What's that bird in my backyard?

The Cedar Waxwing is one of the most sleek and elegant birds that you will find. While they typically do not visit feeders, they can be a fun bird to watch!

Do not let their beauty fool you into thinking that they don't enjoy a little play time. When in groups, Cedar Waxwings are known to toss berries back and forth and in the air to swallow them. If they eat too much too quickly, they can even appear intoxicated! Look for them high up in trees as they look for insects to snack on as well. Listen for their "nasally" and "wheezing" type call to spot them near you!
